Now that summer is here, it’s a perfect time to give your manufactured home a little extra love. If you’re looking for ways, check out these easy steps to prepare your home for the best summer yet!
Try filling or patching your driveway. Whether you have a concrete, gravel or asphalt driveway, take some time to fill in any holes and smooth out any edges. You don’t have to redo it entirely but try to give some attention to any problem spots that have been disrupted over time or because of weather.
Take care of any weeds in your yard. Spring and summer are the perfect seasons to get out in your yard and spray or pull out any weeds. After all, you may spend more time outside and want the yard to look nice!
Clean and repair all windows. If your windows aren’t sealed well, it can become a huge problem during the summer months because you’ll lose a lot of cool air inside your manufactured home. Make sure you caulk anywhere that is necessary and fix any screens. Give your windows a nice cleaning after the repairs as a little piece of housekeeping!
Make sure your AC and fans are in working order. Clean your AC unit and dust any ceiling fans you have. You can also install new fans in rooms that don’t already have one for added cooling and comfort to beat the heat this season.
Clean your deck or patio area. Rain and trees can leave a lot of damage and grime on your deck, so take some time to give it a good pressure wash! You can also use a leave-in cleaner if you don’t have access to a pressure washer. This step is essential for the longevity of your deck.
Set up any outdoor tools. Dust off and spray down any garden hoses, grills, sprinklers or lawn chairs to get them ready for the season ahead. If there are any tools you may be missing or need to be replaced, this is an excellent time of year to invest in some new ones too!
Repair skirting. The underside of your home is important for keeping the air in and unwanted critters out! Use the summer to repair or add new skirting to the bottom of your manufactured home.
