“New Orleans is just a bite away” at Roux Americajun! This iconic restaurant is home to all the familiar Cajun and Creole cuisine classics and is located in a repurposed, vintage building in downtown with brick walls and wood floors that only add to the allure. Boudin balls, crawfish bread, red beans and rice, jambalaya, shrimp etouffee and Boudreaux pie are just a few of our menu favorites.
6. Smokin Chikin
Smokin Chikin is the brainchild of a couple from Trinidad and Tobago in collaboration with another couple with roots in India and Pakistan. The four owners have traveled extensively and learned to cook using the flavors of the world. They connected in Clarkesville and from there, developed a restaurant specializing in rotisserie chicken, using many marinades and spices, along with several exotic side dishes.
7. Strawberry Ale Works
Strawberry Ale Works is located just a few blocks from the courthouse square and offers a mixture of old and new design with its original brickwork, combined with eclectic light fixtures. Strawberry Ale Works is unique in that diners can watch the brewery’s operation through glass walls as they sip on samples.
8. La Michoacana Delicias
La Michoacana Delicias is a Mexican ice cream shop located near the Cumberland River. The ice creams and popsicles are made on site and are bursting with flavor. There are so many options to choose from, but you truly can’t go wrong with any of them!
