The summer season is upon us, and especially now, more people are taking advantage of spending time outside rather than staying indoors. One of the many great things about Clarksville, Tennessee is its wide variety of outdoor adventure. This summer, take some of your time to explore these few top places:

  • Learn your way around downtown Clarksville on a BCycle, the ideal way perfect way to visit destinations including the Clarksville Greenway, Liberty Park and the Austin Peay State University Campus.
  • Cool off in the water with a kayak adventure. Clarksville’s Blueway possesses 650 plus navigable waterways that you can enjoy! From a relaxing flow to a few gentle rapids, the Red River might just be one of Clarksville’s best kept paddling secrets!
  • Looking for an adrenaline rush? Clarksville offers two locations for mountain biking trails, Rotary Park and the North Ford Mountain Biking Trail, closer to Fort Campbell. These trails range from beginner to intermediate levels, so if you’re just starting out or have been riding for a while these trails are for you! There are even kids’ parks!
  • Seek a soaring afternoon at Kings Bluff, the closest rock-climbing experience other than Nashville, overlooking the gorgeous rive. Once you make it to the top, you’ll find a spectacular place for panoramic sunsets. The area’s routes difficulty ranges from 5.3 to 5.13 and will put your crimp strength to the test.   • Take the scenic route. If you’re looking for a beautiful hike, visit one of Clarksville’s two state parks, Port Royal and Dunbar Cave State Park. At Port Royal, find a picnic area and easy access to the Red River where you can fish or kayak. Take in a historical tour to learn about Port Royal’s role in Tennessee history – but be sure to schedule in advance! Take a hike along one of Dunbar Cave State Park hiking trails that lead to the mouth of the Cave where you can take a guided tour to look at the stalagmites and learn about the prehistoric era of Tennessee.
